ITV Creative is an in-house creative ad-agency that is responsible for creating and producing on and off air communications for the ITV brand portfolio. It also produces work for external clients. Responsible for over £270 million worth of airtime this department is a mix of Creatives (broadcast, print and digital), Designers, Social, Continuity, and Producers. ITV Creative works in close collaboration with Marketing, Media Planning, Research & Planning, as well as ITV technical divisions – Transmission, Scheduling and other areas of the business such as, ITV Studios & ITV Commercial.
What this role will entail...
This role will report into the Controller of Production and Operations and will oversee all campaign and project productions going through the department, ensuring integration of production, creative, design, digital and social needs for relevant campaigns and projects across Viewer Marketing and Commercial Unit.
Some Key Responsibilities:
The Head of Campaign Production will work closely with the Controller of Production and Operations to ensure the Production team are working efficiently, and professionally and applying the best production practices and driving sustainability in everything we do.
Providing practical support, knowledge and help on complex productions, whilst allowing Producers to lead the projects
Line managing the Production Team and identifying development needs for all production staff and fulfil them through the allocation of increasingly stretching projects
Supporting Producers in their own line management responsibilities, working with them as part of their annual PDR appraisal process, and having an understanding of what succession planning might look like for the team
Where possible producing priority integrated campaigns ensuring delivery on time and on budget, working to the best production processes and ensuring we are working with the best talent in the business
Fostering a team atmosphere and encouraging sharing of skills and knowledge
Working with the Controller of Production and Operations, providing clear and consistent guidelines on process and budgeting
Oversight of all budgets going through the department especially on priority or commercial campaigns
Reporting priority campaign budgets and accruals to the Director of MKT and Heads of marketing.
Reporting commercial budgets, accruals and accurate monthly figures to the Director of ITV Creative, Controller of Production and Operations, and Controller of Campaign Management. Providing predictions for ongoing work and support.
Working with the Director of ITV Creative and Experiences and Controller of Campaign Management to bring the department in on budget, and give appropriate warnings at the right time if there is concern this won’t happen
The ideal candidates:
Strong experience at producer/exec producer level preferably within broadcast
Extensive experience leading and motivating a large team of people
A high level of understanding of the broadcast production environment, including TV, Digital and Print advertising
Ability to present the strategy of an idea and creative (when required) to any stakeholder
Manage conflict and difficult situations
Understanding of production processes, budgetary control, forecasting, resource, allocation, profit and loss
High level of project management needed from forecast to delivery
