In a new team structure, we are looking to appoint a Director of Media Strategy responsible for the strategic and tactical development of through-channel media campaign plans to deliver creative and innovative Brand business solutions. The role will focus on the integration of earned media relations across PR and social and will be responsible for providing a ‘round-the-next-corner’ view on where and how the media landscape is shifting and how brands can navigate these changes. Reporting to the Brand MD, you will partner with Creatives, Planners and Account teams in London to develop high-impact, channel-neutral media campaigns for a variety of global brands in multiple sectors, ensuring that ideas are then executed in line with the creative vision you have curated. You should be adept at curating content – digital, visual and video – for use across a range of media channels, with a focus on earned media and social, to support Brand campaign execution. As well as making a mark in Brand campaign delivery and execution, you will be expected to spearhead innovations to drive distinction for the business. Provide senior client and internal media counsel from strategy through to delivery and identify media opportunities and solutions for our clients through innovation and platforms. Work to implement actionable audience and performance insights in collaboration with account leads and Edelman specialist teams (Edelman DxI) Foster a creative media culture and nurture through crafting, executing and inspiring brand and Edelman practices on the media communications ecosystem. Hold a strong view on the current culture trends and climate, what the impact is for our business and client and distinguish solutions How will you contribute: Act as an expert in all media verticals and regions (Global, EMEA and UK). Hold strong experience in the shifting media landscape, fragmentation of audiences, emergence of new technologies and platforms and third-party stakeholders and advocates Deploy sector knowledge effectively to guide the team to conceive robust communications strategies customised to each client, brief or new business proposal Actively participate in new business planning and related presentations. Develop compelling RFP responses leading on the management and coordination of integrated briefs Identify tracking and evaluating campaign performance framework and work through optimizing organic opportunities when campaigns are live to maximise effectiveness Operate as a senior client contact, actively driving strategic and tactical planning activities on assigned accounts Ability to successfully articulate and visualise various emerging trends and behaviours across the entire media landscape Collaborate with analytics and new business teams to build out and execute ideas Ensure teams take full advantage of proprietary and tools to deliver client results Engage with research partners to execute all measurement and learning plans Take direct responsibility for the quality of work and smooth operation and growth of Brand and accounts. Ensure total accountability for budgets, reporting and client billing Manage a staff of media professionals in Brand and cross practice. Responsible for staff development through performance management and providing consistent feedback.
