Our software is the core of our business and enables the company to continue to grow and thrive. The Group’s industry leading and proprietary technology platform powers its own consumer sites plus global media partners and brand owners, including: Unilever, Nintendo and the Daily Mail Group. We develop all of our own applications in-house with our Development Delivery Teams. About the Role:
As a Senior Data Scientist/Machine Learning Engineer you will be involved in research and development of advanced Machine Learning algorithms at THG. Your focus will be researching state-of-the-art AI technologies and deep learning algorithms to provide practical solutions to the rest of the business. You will be strong in software engineering and have a track record of building production quality systems. You will also provide technical leadership to the team and the larger THG Data community with regards to data solution design and engineering, implementation of algorithms and experimentations seeing it through to production. You will work closely with business stakeholders to identify challenges and provide AI-based solutions. This is a technical, hands-on role where you will write code, analyse and cleanse data and provide robust solutions to real business problems using the Data at your disposal.RequirementsSolid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, data modelling and software architectureExcellent understanding of classical Machine Learning algorithms (e.g. Logistic Regression, Random Forest, XGBoost, etc.) as well as state-of-the-art research area (e.g. NLP, Transfer Learning etc.) and modern Deep Learning algorithms (e.g. BERT, LSTM, etc.)Solid knowledge of SQL and Python's ecosystem for data analysis (Jupyter, Pandas, Scikit Learn, Matplotlib)Understanding of model evaluation, data pre-processing techniques, such as standardisation, normalisation, and handling missing dataSolid understanding of summary, robust, and nonparametric statistics; hypothesis testing, probability distributions, sampling techniques, and stochastic processes.
