The Health Informatics Department are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic and innovative Data Scientist to join their team.
Following the development of an innovative Informatics tool, the successful candidate will be invited to join the department working in the Healthcare Evaluation Data (HED) team.
Using the latest developments in Analytics, Statistics and Data Science you will be tasked with providing high quality analytics through the application of statistical and machine learning methods. You will develop, maintain and support current modelling and visualisation processes, with a focus on standardised mortality methods, control charts, and risk prediction models using national NHS data.
This role will focus on the use of R, SQL, and other analysis tools to support HED. The successful candidate will provide expertise to analytical, clinical and managerial colleagues across the NHS.

This role is based at Yardley Court, Edgbaston, but will initially be based remotely due to the current coronavirus restrictions. The post is currently offered on a 23 month fixed term basis in line with approved funding.
Interviews may be held as a two-stage process, with successful applicants invited back for a second round. Please note that prior to the first interview, candidates will be expected to complete a remote technical skills test involving R Statistics.
