About the Post:

Data Management Officer:

This is a unique opportunity to play a vital role in making big changes happen! At Barnsley, we’re shaping a bright new future for our council and our communities. You’ll help to make sure we have the right business intelligence and drive for improvement that we need to make a success of service’s that we support.

The purpose of the post will be to assist in ensuring data systems are accurate and up to date, containing information supplied by the various stakeholders, to ensure high levels of efficiency and service management are achieved.

Some of the skills required will include:

  • Ability to handle and process considerable amounts of manual and computerised information ensuring accuracy of processing and safeguarding of sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise conflicting workloads to meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work flexibly as part of a team.
  • Able to work agilely across different teams and locations.

Your role in our journey - what you’ll need

To join us, you’ll need a Level 2 qualification in a relevant area. You will bring to the role; 

  • Experience of working within a business support environment.
  • Experience in accurately recording data, reconciliation, simple analysis and presentation.
  • Proven experience of working with highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • Experience of working with financial information.

A Remote / Digital interview will take place in late August with a start date as soon as possible after that. Currently it is our policy to work from home/remotely wherever possible, but you may on occasion need to visit the office within Barnsley town centre.
