Our central service functions range from ICT and Procurement to HR and Communications ensuring the seamless integration across our business.An opportunity has arisen for a Group Financial Controller to work at our Head Office in Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and working closely with our Executive Team, the Group Financial Controller is responsible for the accounting operations of the company, to include the distribution of periodic financial reports, maintenance of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.What you'll be doing day to day Ensuring the continued development and operation of a first-class finance functionOverseeing the preparation and audit of the annual statutory accounts for the Group and its subsidiariesManaging the monthly management accounts process, including consolidation of the Group’s financial performance, management commentary and variance analysisPreparing financial plans and budgetsLiaising with Business Unit Managing Directors, reviewing and challenging financial results and monitoring compliance with group procedures and controlsCash management/cashflow forecastingTax complianceEstablishing and maintaining the formal operating and reporting processes of the finance functionDealing with external advisers such as accountants, lawyers, bankers and auditorsDeveloping co-sourced internal audit programmes in conjunction with the Group’s advisersAssisting with the coordination and preparation of the Group’s Annual Report & AccountsRecommending benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operationsReviewing and interrogating financial and operating metricsManaging the production of the annual budget and forecastsAnalysing variances from the budget and overseeing the preparation of associated reports to the BoardProviding financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiationsMaintaining an IT development roadmap to ensure the Group’s systems remain fit for purpose and achieve efficiencies wherever possibleThe experience we're looking for in a candidateA minimum of 5 years post qualification experienceIt is essential that the job holder is fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMAExperience in applying International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)Strong academic backgroundExperience establishing and maintaining financial management and reporting processes for a large businessAudit/practice trainedExperience working within a PLC desirable but not essential Exceptional communication and team skillsDemonstrable commercial expertise ideally gained within a construction / engineering businessThe personal attributes we're looking for in a candidate Desire to understand and promote the Company purpose, vision, values and cultureTrustworthy and ethical approach, exercising discretion where requiredOrganised, structured and professional, with a passion for excellenceFlexibility, resilience and the ability to influence and build relationships at all levelsExperience in a fast-paced, national and multi-site businessAbility to communicate effectively and work with both financial and non-financial colleaguesPro-active self-starter who has the ability to prioritise a varied workload whilst working effectively within a team environmentWhat we can offer youCompetitive Salary5% pension contribution25 days holiday + bank holidaysHoliday trading schemePerks at work scheme (discount from high street retailers)Private Medical InsuranceFree eye test vouchersEmployee share scheme3 x salary Life assuranceFree ParkingFlexible Working
