Job Title - Financial Accountant
Grade - 5.2
Location - Kingswood, Cannock
Hours - Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join the Veolia Statutory Accounts Team based in Cannock. This role is threefold; firstly you will be required to assist in the preparation of the statutory accounts for a number of companies including the main UK trading entity Veolia ES (UK) Ltd. You will also help to prepare and support the statutory local audits of these entities. Secondly you will also be involved in the completion of the Finance Shared Service Centre (FSSC) audits. Thirdly, you will help with the completion of the Veolia ES (UK) Vector pack (for Group Reporting) on a monthly basis including supporting schedules and also the working capital analysis.
What you’ll do
Main duties will include:
Adhere to statutory accounts processes, procedures and timetablesKeep the Google statutory accounts reconciliation file up to date for all companies and ensure it matches SAPComplete journal templates and post them into SAPPrepare documentation for the statutory audits and provide to the auditorsFollow up on queries with other departments for the SSC and local auditsAssist in intercompany reconciliation processComplete the Corporation Tax packs for all companiesInvolvement in other projects across the SSC to improve the audit processFor actuals, budgets and forecasts, preparation of the Veolia ES (UK) Vector pack with supporting schedules such as provisions analysis for review by managementUndertake intercompany reconciliations with other Veolia legal entitiesProduce working capital analysis on a periodic basis to assist Management decision makingContribute to transition from SAP to Workday later in 2021
The experience you will need
Fully-Qualified – ACA, ACCA or CIMA Experience of contributing to an external audit from start to finishEffective communication with the external auditorsStrong interpersonal skills are required to liaise confidently with other parts of the BusinessMust be able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail to produce accurate informationAdvanced Excel & Google Suite skills Must be able to work unsupervised, in an organised way, able to manage own time and prioritise work to meet all deadlines
Statutory accounts audit experience desired in either Audit Practice or IndustryKnowledge of SAP preferred
