Fantastic Financial Accountant role supporting the Head of finance with all the month end Processes.This role will be a 6 month contract.This role is to provide support for the Head of Finance and the Financial Accounting Manager in managing our core accounting function and year-end processes. You'll be responsible for certain aspects of the month-end close process, and timely and accurate internal and external reporting. You'll also be involved in assisting our internal and external auditors with their interim and final year-end audit and co-ordinating/providing answers to their queries, month end journal reviews and ad hoc financial tasks/project work.We're looking for a fully qualified accountant with experience of managing a small team and overseeing the year-end accounts/audit process in a small to medium size entity.Key duties:*Ensure month-end is correct and complete, procedures and deadlines are followed*Prepare and present month-end Flash reports with commentary on significant variances*Plan and deliver testing of the department's controls eg monthly review of manual journals and other non-key controls as required*Support colleagues, systems and processes across the wider Finance department*Ensure all accounting regulations/standards are met*Prepare the financial statements in the Annual Report and Accounts and Class Statements *Assist with the preparation of Audit Committee papers*Coordinate and oversee the deliverables required for audit purposes*Prepare the quarterly consolidation submissions to HM Treasury and any other relevant disclosures*Act as the main point of contact between the business and HM Treasury Group Finance*Support the Accounting Officer sign off process required by HM Treasury for the Annual Report and Accounts and Treasury's consolidation process Required Skills & Experience:*Qualified accountant with post qualification experience of financial systems and processes*Experience of managing month-end closures and responsible for ensuring general ledger integrity *Strong technical accounting expertise with a good understanding of IFRS and knowledge of operating effective financial controls*Exposure to the production process of Annual Reports and experience of fully preparing financial statements and associated disclosures*Experience supporting internal and external financial audits *Strong Excel capabilities to manage large data sets swiftly and accurately*Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail*Excellent organisational, prioritisation and interpersonal skills*Strong communication and stakeholder management skills at all levels*Experience of SUN, iPOS, and Oracle particularly desirable If this sounds like you then please do not hesitate to apply.
