The Role

The Supplier Risk Officer is a newly created role in Shawbrook’s Procurement team. The Supplier Risk Officer will work with the Head of Procurement & Estate, the Supplier Risk Manager and central functions across the Bank to ensure supplier risks are adequately identified and managed.

Responsibilities

Strategy / Planning / Organisation

  • You will need to assist the Supplier Risk Manager in the delivery of the supplier onboarding strategy and understand how the supplier supports the business process, evaluate the inherent risk exposure and coordinate the necessary due diligence to mitigate the bank against those risks.
  • You will need to deliver effective supplier risk and assurance solutions that balance long term strategies and short-term requirements in a fast-paced environment
  • You will need to support the Supplier Risk Manager in the identification of evolving supplier risk priorities and support stakeholders on time sensitive reviews to ensure that due diligence is up to date and executed properly. This will include adhoc due diligence requirements at short notice.

Regulatory

  • You will have an understanding of key regulations that impact third party relationships including EBA finalised guidelines and SYSC8.
  • You will report all issues of regulatory concern to the Supplier Risk Manager, Chief Risk Officer, Compliance and Legal Departments

Customer (internal & external)

  • You will engage with all areas of the business who have relationships with suppliers. You will share best practices and provide pragmatic solutions and recommendations to support the business with onboarding new suppliers and the cyclical due diligence requirements of existing suppliers.
  • You will work closely with the Procurement team where supplier risk supports supplier performance management and procurement aspects of the process.
  • You will work closely with the DPO, CISO, Head of Cyber and 2nd line functions, providing support for the supplier assurance approval process.

Risk Management / Controls and Compliance

  • You will support the central tracking and reporting of supplier risk gaps and sharing best practice
  • You will coordinate quarterly risk reviews of critical suppliers
  • You will communicate and escalate potential issues/risks in a prompt and effective manner
  • You will support the Supplier Risk Manager to enhance the supplier risk, assurance and reporting services to the bank

The Person

  • Ideally educated to degree level (or equivalent), although not essential
  • Supplier risk and assurance experience gained within a financial service organisation
  • Computer literate (good knowledge of MS Office suite - Excel, Word, Power-Point)
  • Proven knowledge of Conduct Rules
