Temporary part time (32.5hrs) Learning Support Assistant

The role \n \nAn interesting opportunity has arisen for a Learning Support Assistant to join our Additional Educational Needs (AEN) Department. This appointment is primarily to support the transition of a year 6/7 student who is on the autistic spectrum and has associated needs. You will undertake work and deliver targeted support within the classroom and assist with general duties for provision for inclusion as required. This is a temporary post for one year commencing as soon as possible and ending in July 2021.\n \nThe successful candidate will have the ability to analyse students' learning needs, encourage, motivate and support them to overcome barriers to learning; having high expectations of student achievement whilst enabling students to become independent learners and develop positive behaviours. You should be able to work in a team, be flexible and have a positive attitude.\n \nThe College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Safer recruitment practice and pre-employment checks will be undertaken before any appointment is confirmed. This post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.\n \n United Learning \n \nMidhurst Rother College is part of United Learning, a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England.\n \nOur schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resource, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.\n \nAs a Group, we can reward our staff better: with good career opportunities, better pay, benefits, and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. Our academies each have at least eight INSET days per year (with three of those solely dedicated to planning), and an ongoing group-wide wellbeing programme. It's an ethos we call 'the best in everyone'.\n \n For more information \n \nFor a confidential discussion about this role, please contact:\n \n Ms Rachel Ward, [email protected] 01730 812451 \n \nAddress: Midhurst Rother College, North Street Midhurst, West Sussex, GU29 9DT\n \nTelephone: 01730 812451\n \nWebsite:
