Nursery Assistant Part Time

This nursery based in central Leeds needs you! They are currently recruiting for a part time team member to start in August 2020 on a flexible contract. This is a temporary contract but may become permanent for the right candidate. You will be expected to work in all rooms within the nursery to cover breaks/holidays and staff absence. This setting is in the heart of Leeds (LS2) with great public transport routes, and also nearby parking spaces.

You don't need to have a childcare qualification for this role, although it is desirable. Experience working with young children between the ages of 0 and 5 is essential. This contract will involve working 2 or 3 days a week, but there will be flexibility with full/half days. ...

Your main responsibilities would be:

Creating and monitoring activities with the children

Working as a team with other staff members in the room

Regular outdoor play supervision

Handling/serving food

Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed

To be successful in your application, you will:

Have previous experience of working with children from 0-5 years

Have a warm and positive approach with lots of creative ideas

Be able to provide reference details to verify previous work with children

Have excellent communication skills

It is desirable, but not essential, to also hold the following:

Relevant qualification in childcare (CACHE level 2/3, NVQ 2/3, NNEB, Degree)

Recent first aid training

Up to date safeguarding knowledge
