Head of Key Account Management and Vertical Markets - UK Head of Key Account Management and Vertical MarketsNationwidePermanent This is a national role, reporting to our Sales Director and working collaboratively as a part of our wider Sales Management Leadership team, this core role will focus on developing, supporting, coaching and managing our talented team of Vertical Market Key Account Managers to enhance and maximise performance through retaining and growing the Sales and Gross Profit for each vertical aligned to our budget. This role is ideal for a candidate looking for strategic lead responsibilities with the opportunity to spearhead, shape, influence, manage, implement solutions to ensure that our sales function is best placed to support our driven and challenging business growth by really driving and increasing our Hit Rate to Win ratio for new key target account business within each vertical. You'll be driving full collaboration between Sales, Product Management, along with Tender Management and wider business and you'll support the development and closure of larger opportunities with new and existing key accounts and within focused Vertical Markets. The Role:People Management * Developing and driving performance management to support a high-performance, target driven culture.* Managing and coaching our team of vertical market Key Account Managers.* Driving high focus within Sales and activity Planning via our CRM system including pipeline management. * Succession and workforce planning, from helping us attract talent, to successful onboarding and retention and developing. * Involvement and supporting our overseas delegates to ensure success of various trade lanes and global VM team. · Drive full collaboration between Sales, Product Management, along with Tender Management and wider business Reporting * Compiling and reporting on sales activity to our Sales Director. Requirements About you:* Demonstrable operational experience in Sales with a real focus on enhancing business development and retention alongside proven Key Account Management and vertical markets experience.* Demonstrable effective people management skills - coaching, mentoring and developing.* Strong commercial focus and business acumen with extensive industry knowledge within Key Account Management.* Strong interpersonal, team work, collaborative, communication, coaching and influencing skills.* Highly proactive with a strong sense of self-initiative.* Sets and expects very high standards of sales performance from the field sales team.* Proven experience of developing relationships with Air and Ocean product management as well as wider business functions* Able to drive from the front, to shape, present well and articulate ideas effectively to influence and gain buy-in from senior stakeholders.
