You will have to locate yourself locally to their offices in either London/Central Scotland/the M4 corridor Overview My client, a leading PE backed Technology Service Provider have an immediate and exciting opportunity for a passionate Senior Network Architect to join their team. The Senior Network Architect must have with Service Provider experience. As you will be working in a team of experienced network engineers implementing the next generation national network infrastructure. This will provide my client with a new platform to expand its network and managed service capability. You will be reporting to a project team and advising on the technical directions and executing a successful migration to our new network. Working on enterprise project where client is delivering a range of infrastructure consolidation, upgrade and improvement transformation activities. Network monitoring platforms and tools. Cisco Network Engineer driving the delivery of new and enhanced services into production environment Responsibilities Assist design, implement and support core network stretching across the UK connecting a number of their Data Centres. Provide low level design expertise that allows delivering of a high-quality solution that meets the needs of their core network and customer solutions. Ownership of the assigned core network objectives from inception through to deployment and be responsible for ensuring it meets the defined requirements in its fully delivered form. Follow current procedures to document a change or release as well as moving them through the approval process. Follow predefined principles to ensure that consistency and standardisation of the network project is kept up to the highest level. Perform a range of scheduled core network maintenance tasks and internal network support if required. Handling customer communication at a very high standards including tickets, phone, email requests and network updates related to their core network and customer solutions. Pro-actively ensure that regular informational updates are provided to project Managers and Technical Team regarding scheduled maintenance and updates to the network. Ensuring that where maintenance work is required, advance and formal notice are provided to customers in line with the company's SLAs. Follow general day-to-day office tasks and other reasonable tasks set by their Line Manager or senior leader. Actively identifying new areas for learning; regularly creating and taking advantage of learning opportunities; using newly gained knowledge and skills on the job and learning through their application. Handle a wide variety of networking tasks, such as daily checks of network monitoring, cabling requirements, provisioning of additional network resources. Technically mentoring less experienced staff along with members of other teams. Building strong collaborative relationships based on mutual respect. Flexibility to operate out of hours during planned maintenance or incidents as requested. Requirement Ideally, an individual operating at CCIE level within a service provider environment. Strong experience working in a similar environment and be familiar with ITIL, project management frameworks and network industry best practices. Highly experienced using service provider level Cisco routing/switching/Firewalling, plus ideally HP, Extreme and Juniper Switches. You will have years of design and architecture experience. Preferably you will have worked in a large Service Provider, Financial, Government, or Enterprise environments. You will be required to present samples of your documentation and talk through a working example. You should be able provide technical direction and support to network engineers. Experience of the following: Documentation creation of High level and Low level Complex networks and Data Centre network architecture routing protocols including MP-BGP & OSPFv2/v3 and EIGRP, ideally within a Service Provider network. MPLS technologies in service provider networks including following protocols and products: LDP, L2VPNs, VPLS, L3VPNs, MPLS-TE, eVPN HSRP/VRRP/GLBP, STP/RSTP/MSTP, Dot1q, QinQ, LAG/LACP, MTUs, CAM, ARP, CDP Copper and fibre cabling and Data Centres cabling management Data Centres network monitoring including SNMP and Syslog protocols An enthusiastic, driven, committed & flexible approach to work is essential Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication Must be willing to complete additional on-call duties and be flexible to travel between data-centre across the UK.
