The Role: To assist the SLPN Director to maximise the tendering opportunities for local businesses, particularly focusing on SMEs in the Borough of Lambeth and the wider south London area. In particular, to enable Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to participate in the growth economy and in any other relevant supply chain opportunities and private sector contracts. This role requires the job-holder to perform a high level of office management and administration with a focus on data and event management. Main Responsibilities To organise and facilitate (as directed) all SLPN events/workshops/online webinars. This includes dissemination of invitations, logging responses, booking and on the day event management. To disseminate information to all clients via email and downloads from the database as and when required including production of the weekly emailer to SLPN clients. Also updating the SLPN website and other communication feeds. Work with SLPN colleagues to forge links with developers, contractors, procurement managers and local businesses to encourage the placing of contracts with local companies through fair competition. Develop a strong ability to generate and develop new/existing business and sales activity which aligns with supplier and buyer strategies & drivers. Alert local companies to forthcoming tendering opportunities and introduce suitable companies to contractors, procurement managers and other buying personnel. Adhere to and promote SLPN"s Equality & Diversity, Environment, IT and Health & Safety policies. Develop relationships with other local business support organisations and key partners/stakeholders to ensure SMEs can benefit from the full range of available business support. Comply with Data Protection Act and other relevant legislation. Adhere to and promote SLPN"s Equality & Diversity, Environment, IT and Health & Safety policies. Assist colleagues at ELBP as and when required. Undertake other occasional duties which may be reasonably required. Person Specification: Skills Excellent communication and written skills are essential, with an excellent eye for detail. Excellent organisational skills and time management skills. Must be able to develop and maintain robust client filing system to support the Procurement Network Director. Must be innovative, flexible and conscientious. A team player who is driven and capable of working on own initiative, with an enthusiastic attitude towards their work. Comprehensive IT skills are essential. The ability to communicate with people of all ages and backgrounds is essential with a commitment to promoting diversity. Knowledge A good understanding of the SME business sector is essential. A good geographical knowledge of Lambeth and the surrounding area is essential. An understanding of the issues affecting the public and private sector is essential. An understanding of the issues surrounding supply chain is essential. A good understanding of key developments in central and south London is essential. Experience Commercially related experience. Experience of working in a multi-partner environment. Experience of working alone or as part of a team. Experience of organising events is desirable.
