Our Digital Services Team are changing in the way we deliver our service and are reflecting the new ways of working with the use of Digital, Data and Technology. We are looking for a motivated and conscientious Network Lead that wants to make a difference by ensuring the network infrastructure that underpins our entire catalogue of services and applications across the council are maintained and deliver the best service to our customers, residents and businesses. The Network Lead will report to the Tier 3 Senior Infrastructure and Environment Manager within Digital Services and have accountability for managing networks and voice team and infrastructure. Ensure the network infrastructure is fit for purpose and futureproofed. With exciting times ahead, we are reshaping the Digital Services Team and have created roles, to add value and to provide the best Service to our citizens. Key Accountabilities: The successful applicant will be expected to: Excellent understanding of VPN configuration, management and troubleshooting Demonstrate experience of multi-site networks with complex configurations Solid knowledge of: VLAN, DNS, VRF, HSRP, TCP/IP, Packet Capture, Dynamic Routing – BGP, OSPF, EIGRP Responsibility for network infrastructure including LAN/WAN components such as switches, routers, WiFi and firewalls. Demonstrate hands-on experience of the management of Cisco, FortiGate network device configurations and patching to ensure continued and smooth operation of production services.
