Operational Head of Failsafe, Diabetic Eye Screening

This is a full-time permanent position and although our head office is based in Cheshire, we’re offering a flexible approach to where you work so no need to relocate! The role is paying £40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience. InHealth Intelligence has been and continues to be a proud supporter of the Diabetic Eye Screening Programmes across NHS England and since 2011, InHealth Intelligence has grown to offer fully managed services across the country. To increase efficiency, we also built our own software system which enables us to adapt and change to meet the requirements our employees to achieve a better user experience. The post-holder will be responsible for taking a corporate overview of the operational performance and delivery of failsafe within all InHealth Intelligence’s Diabetic Eye Screening Programmes, providing assurance as to effectiveness and compliance with National, Local and Internal Failsafe Policies, Procedures and Guidance. At a strategic level, the post-holder will provide advice on the continual improvement required to ensure InHealth Intelligence’s DESPs remain safe and of a high quality to meet the needs of national standards and requirements and commissioner specifications. What you are responsible for Line Management of all InHealth Intelligence (IHI) DESP Failsafe Managers and their respective teams Responsible for delivery of failsafe across all programmes in line with national standards and guidance Ensure performance of failsafe against contracts in each DESP area Responsible for all Failsafe Processes and SOPs Recruitment, training, and support for new Failsafe Managers Ensure standardised training and monitoring of all failsafe processes and tasks, across DESP’s Attend meetings of DESP Management Team and ensure that Failsafe issues are discussed and resolved Draft and present relevant reports on failsafe performance and recommend changes where required Disseminate relevant NDESP guidance to all Failsafe Teams, implement changes and reflect in failsafe processes and training Take the lead on incidents which involve failsafe. Support local Failsafe Managers to investigate, track and report Complete DESP wide Failsafe audits where required and produce findings report and to work with other departments to improve efficiency You have experience of Experience of managing or operating at a high level within a Diabetic Eye Screening or other National Screening programme Evidence of continuing professional development Knowledge of NDESP policies Knowledge of National Screening Committee (NSC) guidelines, NICE and NSF Educated to A level with GCSE Maths and English or equivalent Qualifications Management/Leadership qualification or equivalent experience over 5 years Performance management of staff and services Coaching and mentoring of staff as well as diversity and Equality
