- Head of UK Loss Event Centre of Excellence (203548) Head of UK Loss Event Centre of Excellence - Job Number: 203548 The Head of Centralised Loss Event team role is a key role within the UK&I business and plays a pivotal role in the embedded 1 st Line of Defence risk model in Experian, reporting into the Risk & Control Director, EITS . This role will provide support to the Exec and senior management of BUs across the UK business in driving improvements in the quality and resolution of loss event management. This role requires leading a team of Loss Event Managers to successfully influence SMEs / senior leaders to drive through the corrective actions required to resolve loss events. The role is responsible for ensuring an effective end to end Loss Event management process including effective stakeholder engagement and management both within the BUs, with risk owners but also with key line 2 teams (GRM, GSO, Compliance, Legal). Lead a team of Loss Event Managers to ensure that; LEs are raised in GRC for any identified events within the UK business Accountable for ensuring initial and ongoing LE Exec notification and status updates, to include Regulatory notifiable event updates Accountable for ensuring LEs and LE process links in with related reporting processes including the Crisis Management process, the data breach process and liaising with the 3 rd Party Supplier Management where required. Accountable for establishing customer & financial impacts and conducting ‘5 whys’ Root Cause Analysis on all LEs. Accountable for ensuring LE team lead and coordinate regular meetings to set and review progress against agreed actions, tracking each LE to remediation and closure, including ensuring LE Owner and governance function approval of closure where required. Accountable for ensuring completion of PD forms, including facilitating BU MD and LE Owner review and approval of any PD forms Accountable for the end to end LE process and procedures, ensuring compliance with the UK&I Loss Event Standard, the Data Breach process, the Crisis Management process and the Exec / regulatory notification processes. Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Ensuring ‘5 Whys’ or equivalent method of RCA undertaken for all LEs to establish the true root cause. Accountable for ensuring the identification and recommendation of corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence and create as Issues in GRC Ensure RCA / corrective actions are shared with wider business to ensure lessons learnt across UK&I BU’s Accountable for ensuring full details of the RCA (i.e. the RCA worksheet) recorded in GRC, as well as the Loss Event categories. Accountable for ensuring a timely, accurate and consistent financial impact assessment is conducted on each LE as part of the RCA process. Experience in a risk environment Previous experience within Financial Services preferred Experience in working within a line 1 Operational Risk function (2LoD Risk experience preferred) Experience of working in incident management / problem management team preferred Experience of leading process improvement initiatives A strong understanding of Financial and Operational Risk Management and assessment within a regulated environment The ability to accurately undertake detailed root cause analysis assessments on complex issues and loss events An understanding to implement effective controls in the provisions of Data Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence senior leaders / stakeholders and gain acceptance, support and commitment across multiple stakeholders Ability to identify and implement change required to simplify and remove waste from processes and ways of working Advanced problem solving and analytical skills Excellent multitasking abilities with proven skills in prioritising both personal workloads and those of others via matrix management Excellent reporting skills with a clear focus on accuracy Desirable: A track record of problem solving and ability to perform effective root cause analysis on issues and incidents Essential: Comfortable in challenging the current process/way of thinking Why choose us?
