Waltham Forest Borough Council and the Waltham Forest and East London (WEL) CCGs implemented a new integrated commissioning structure and arrangements in April 2020. This exciting development comes at a time when the health and social care sectors are looking to commissioning to support many of the local responses to the COVID-19 outbreak as well as provide system leadership in progressing the integration agenda.Implementation of the new integrated model has been completed with the assimilation of existing staff into new roles that have been designed to think and work across the health and social care spectrum, and who are adapting to their new ways of working. The new team currently has a vacancy for the following position;Head of Integrated Commissioning (X1) Agenda for Change band 8c / Local Authority PO12The Head of Integrated Commissioning will sit alongside two other identical roles, with a focus on a defined health and social care strategic commissioning portfolio. This role will initially be focussed on leading the Older People and Wellbeing portfolio. We are looking for extensive experience in NHS and/or Local Government commissioning, including the delivery of national targets, experience of integrated working between the NHS and local government, evidence of delivering transformational change programmes, and a proven ability to be both flexible and agile at a strategic level. Also, with significant experience of navigating the decision-making processes and governance arrangements across the health and care system.Successful applicants will have the choice of being employed by either the WEL CCGs or Waltham Forest Council.
