We are now looking for a Remarkable Person to join our Extraordinary Place at this unprecedented time. We are looking for a Head of Estates to join us who is driven, innovative, responsive and can provide outstanding leadership and direction. The aim is to ensure the provision of a clean, safe and suitable estate and patient environment within the healthcare system. The post holder will work as part of the corporate Estates, Facilities and Development Directorate which manages the Trust’s estate, provides facilities services and delivers the capital programme to meet the needs of the agreed Estates Strategy in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2012. The Head of Estates, will lead the provision of an efficient, effective and high quality professional estates management service capable of meeting all statutory, regulatory and NHS requirements working closely with Chiefs, Directors, Divisional Managers and external organisations to ensure that effective management of the Trust’s facilities services portfolio is embedded into operational management processes and these align with service and business plans to support the strategic direction of the Trust. The Head of Estates will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of estates services for the Trust including Estates Operations, including mechanical, electrical and building services Estates Information and Governance Health and Safety including Asbestos and Fire Management The Head of Estates will be technically and professionally responsible for compiling business plans, developing strategy and policy development and implementation in a number of specialist areas along with legislatory reform implementation across the Trust. The postholder will have expertise and experience across a broad range of estates functions related to the NHS in addition to developed practical estates management abilities and an understanding of statutory law to ensure that the Trust’s financial and business interests are represented and protected through any procurement. The Head of Estates will deputise for the Director of Estates, Facilities and Development in their absence on matters including but not restricted to Estates, Facilities and Development services and Directorate departmental matters. The Head of Estates will be responsible for an annual revenue budget of circa £7m, support the delivery of the capital programme and contribute to the Directorates annual Cash Releasing Efficiency Savings (CRES) programme of between 1% and 3%.
