Family Court Adviser (Social Worker)

Description

Make the difference.

Rewarding, challenging, varied: the role of Family Court Adviser is unique. As the voice of the child in family court in England, you perform a crucial job. To help you do your best, we will support you in every way we can – with fantastic 1-2-1 coaching, flexible working options and an expert health and wellbeing team. Above all, we will give you the trust and autonomy to make your own decisions and apply your expertise. If you’re a skilled social worker, discover a rewarding and different world.

Cafcass independently advises the family courts in England about what is safe for children and in their best interests. We’re the largest employer of social workers in England and only the fourth national organisation to be graded ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted.

When a child needs a voice, you will be there.

We are deeply committed to making a positive difference to each child we support and united in our efforts to improve their lives, as well as those of carers and families. Our Family Court Advisers support over 140,000 children every year by understanding their experiences and speaking up for them, so family courts can make critical decisions about their futures.

As a part of our Private Law team based from either Bloomsbury or Croydon it’s your chance to work closely with children and families, making the most of your knowledge and skills to help determine who a child should live with. You will then present your expert opinion in court, based on the child’s best interests. With so much depending on you, good analytical skills will be essential.

Being a Family Court Adviser is very rewarding – but it’s not for everyone. As well as being registered with Social Work England you need to be someone who’s organised, resilient and able to work independently. Confident in your abilities, you’ve also have worked with children and families for at least three years.

Is this you? Then maybe you’re ready to take decisions and speak up in court as part of our talented team.
