Mental Health Practitioner

Post: Mental Health practitionerBand: 6Hours per week: fulltime (37.5 hours) permanentBase: Stockport Single Point of Access (HYM Service temporarily based in Aston-under-Lyne)We currently are looking to recruit a full time band 6 MHP to join the new Single point of Access pathway which is fully integrated in the the existing MASSH (our local multi- agency safeguarding hub). This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced mental health practitioner to offer early help and support to Stockport’s children and young people experiencing emotional distress/ mental health issues by offering mental health advice to other professionals within MASSH, supporting self-management mental health strategies for families, triaging mental health referrals and directing CYP to the appropriate service for the support that is required. You will work closely with other partner colleagues in the Stockport MASSH including the local authority referral information officers (RIO) and early help advisers and other key providers that offer support to Children and Young people’s emotional wellbeing and mental health in Stockport.The new pathway has been designed using ithrive principles, the successful candidate will play a pivotal part in ensuring CYP in Stockport receive the correct type of support at the right time that the mental health referral pathway is accessible and delivered in true partnership with all the existing avenues of support within the local borough including those children and young people who require help and treatment from Healthy Young minds access as quickly and as smoothly as possible.
