Smile Education are working on behalf of a Birmingham Primary School to assist them in the recruitment of a Year 1 Teaching Assistant for October 2020. This four-form entry Primary situated in South Birmingham currently holds an opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to progress their career.
We are currently searching for a Year 1 Teaching Assistant, from October 2020. The successful applicant will be supporting pupils both on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. Gaps in the structure have been identified in EYFS and KS1. Opportunities exist for successful applicants to complete on site training and progress into a HLTA role.

We would like applicants to have demonstrative experience in either Reception or Year 1 and competency in Letters & Sounds, Phonics, Phonics Screening and assessment in line with the EYFS. This is preferred but not essential.
To be successful in your application, you should have experience in one or more of the following:
• Hold a relevant UK teaching assistant qualification Bachelor of Education or a Level 3 qualification in a childcare related course GCSE English and Maths grade C or above
• Knowledge of the UK EYFS Curriculum Be able to provide reference of a minimum of 3 month in a UK based EYFS school setting
• Able and willing to travel to the Birmingham area
