This includes installations, improvements, repairs and 24 hour emergency response networks to high speed fibre networks. We apply our expertise at each stage of the project lifecycle to ensure smooth delivery to our customers and clients.nmcn are looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor with proven experience in the Telecoms sector to be based at our head office in Huthwaite. Reporting to the Commercial Director, the successful applicant will work alongside the Contract Delivery Teams to ensure that regional commercial delivery targets are met through contractual control, cost management, profitability and cash management of ongoing schemes with each of the division’s clients.What you'll be doing day to dayAssisting the bid team to evaluate risk and opportunity during tender preparationIssue sub-contract tender packages and undertake contractual evaluation of the tender returnsLiaise with regional operational delivery teams to ensure objectives are aligned and contractual compliancy requirements are metReviewing of contract documents to ensure that the company is protected from onerous terms and conditionsAssess contract risk and work with the site team to develop and manage mitigation plansUndertake cost to complete reviews with the contract delivery teamsAttend & chair internal and external commercial review meetingsNegotiating and managing expectations of suppliers and subcontractorsManage the commercial aspects of subcontract accounts from procurement to interim and final account agreementFinal account negotiation achieving the best possible outcome for nmcnPreparation of / assistance with the evaluation and submission of claims for variation worksWorking with the commercial and operational teams to strive for continuous improvementMaximising value and minimising cost, ensuring that appropriate controls are in place to monitor and manage the operating cost baseWorking with the operational teams to deliver and manage performance against commercial targetsManage commercial performance against business targets and Framework KPI’sEnsure that the delivery team are briefed and have sufficient commercial support to monitor and react to budget variancesPromote a culture of integration, continuous improvement and use of best practice across the client baseEnsure that the group commercial policies are adhered to and that the requirements of legislation are metThe experience we're looking for in a candidatePast experience within the Telecoms Delivery industryFull working knowledge of the NEC3 suite of contracts & preferably knowledge of Openreach Purchase Agreements & the Network Services HandbookUnderstanding Contractual clauses and identifying risk/onerous conditions prior to engaging in contract with clientExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsWIP/Cash managementCTC ManagementResource SchedulingP&L reportingCVR’S and forecastingChange control (EW’s and CE’s)Delay and DisruptionApplications for paymentRisk and Opportunities managementDriving profit improvement via the project teamsSupplier/Sub-Contractor managementFull UK driving licenseWhat we can offer youCompetitive SalaryCompany car / Car allowance25 days holiday + bank holidaysHoliday trading schemePrivate Medical InsurancePerks at work scheme (discount from high street retailers)Free eye test vouchersEmployee share scheme3x life assuranceFree ParkingFlexible Working5% enhanced pension contributionPlease note – we may have to close applications to this role sooner than anticipated based on the number of applications received.
