Full Description:
A leading international and multidisciplinary construction company are recruiting for a Construction Manager to join them on a permanent basis, supporting the design, construction, deployment and maintenance of fibre optic and telecoms networks across the North West region.PURPOSE OF THE ROLE * To lead, plan and coordinate all construction work. * To put in place the processes and procedures to enable the management, control and reporting of progress in respect of the Construction function and its Key Performance Indicators. * To provide construction methods input into the design process.MISSION AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Responsible for setting the construction programme, ensuring the construction team is adequately resourced. Lead the construction team, mentor, coach and constructively review the performance of the construction staff and the subcontractors. * Represent the Project for all matters pertaining to Construction at meetings with the Client, the local authorities, and highways agency. * Step in, manage and rectify any complex issues related to Construction, materials, tools and other matters that may affect the project delivery and that require escalation to resolve. * Responsible for ensuring that all construction work is compliant with both Health and Safety regulations and company procedures. Adopts preventative behaviours and ensures the safety of others on the worksite through leadership, briefing, coaching, zero tolerance and demonstrating exemplary behaviour as a safety role model. * Ensure compliance with contractual commitments, specifications, and quality of workmanship by supply chain and/or subcontractors. * Ensure compliance with schedules and plans corrective actions when necessary. * Responsible for putting in place a procedure to monitor and record construction data input for the Key Performance Indicators that support the monthly project performance and progress reports.CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS * HND/HNC in Construction/Civil Engineering and/or: * Proven and successful track record (10+ years) in construction management * Industry standards, and installation practices. * Detailed knowledge of the construction site and construction methods, tools and materials * Understand budgetary control and resource allocation procedures. * Excellent organisational and leadership skills. * Excellent written, communication, interpersonal and briefing skills. * Good interpersonal and time management and proven stakeholder management skills. * Excellent organisation and problem-solving. * Good working knowledge of Microsoft office.Desirable: * Previous Highways/Street works experience * Project ManagementTERMS * Competitive Salary based on experience * Attractive benefits package Ad Posted: 22/Oct/20: Location: Liverpool, Lancashire, United Kingdom: Salary (approx): Competitive: Job Type: Permanent: Experience: Not Specified: Languages Required: English: Reference: 979339897:
