We currently have a vacancy for a Safety, Compliance & Assurance Co-ordinator at our site in Lincolnshire. As a Safety, Compliance & Assurance Co-ordinator, you will be supporting procedures under the guidance and governance of the AM&S Safety Manager as required and promoting safety at every opportunity and ensuring compliance with Aircraft Maintenance and Support (AM&S).   This role will provide you with the opportunity to be a key resource and perform specific tasks to support the local AM&S/SMS Exposition. You will be helping to support the procedures which will enable the SMS lead and team to fulfil their responsibilities. This is a new role and is all encompassed within the Safety, Compliance and Assurance team. You will have the opportunity to develop yourself within the safety and assurance framework and within the wider business. Your main responsibilities as a Safety, Compliance & Assurance Co-ordinator will involve:  Supporting the Safety Management Systems (SMS) to provide an interface between all safety matters and all personnel concerned Promoting safety at every opportunity and ensure compliance with the Aircraft Maintenance & Support (AM&S) Safety Exposition Supporting procedures under the guidance and governance of the AM&S Safety Manager (Function) and/or AM&S Safety Manager (Business/Gov) as required Supporting and working alongside an established team of Safety, Compliance and Assurance specialists, ensuring and assuring that the maintenance processes are in-line with BAE Systems mandated Governance requirements Liaising with and brief senior positions within the RAF organisation and BAE Systems at RAF Coningsby and occasionally RAF Lossiemouth Coordinating meetings with senior stakeholders.  This will include arranging, compiling presentation packs, chairing, presenting and producing minutes Understanding all the appropriate regulatory requirements, including their interaction and application Your skills and qualifications: Essential: HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in mechanical or aerospace engineering or a relevant engineering related subject Understanding and knowledge of Quality Management Systems e.g. AS9100D Experience with Regulatory Articles (RAs) and Aircraft Maintenance Organisation (AMOs) Understanding and knowledge of the Maintenance Approved Organisation Scheme (MAOS) Experience with a Safety Management System within a relevant industry such as Automotive, Healthcare, Oil & Gas etc. Ability to demonstrate a level of governance in relation to safety Experience of coordinating meetings with senior stakeholders to include arranging, compiling presentation packs, chairing, presenting and producing minutes Proficient in the use Microsoft Office Applications i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc. Desirable: Experience of aerospace Safety Management Systems (ASIMS, SIMS, Bowties, Hazards and/or Threats) Previous experience of doing a similar role within a Fast jet and/or military environment Knowledge and understanding of application of Risk Management when considering complex issues in all areas Knowledge of the RAF operation and regulatory frameworks and the process through which the RAF will safely operate the Aircraft What we are looking for in you: You will be an effective and excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to brief detailed statistics and data to senior stakeholders. You will be flexible and independent in your approach to work with a willingness to travel for the role when required. You will be self-motivated and have excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage your time efficiently and prioritise your workload depending on importance. You will possess the ability to think analytically and have a keen eye for detail.
