Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Health Protection Team, PHE East of England as a Health Protection Practitioner. The Health Protection team has two offices; one in Mildenhall and one in Harlow providing a service across the East of England.  There are two posts available, both based in the Harlow office, and the post holders will be expected to travel within their geographical patches and to other offices within the Centre.

The post holders will work with a range of public and private sector agencies and be involved in the prevention, surveillance, investigation and control of infection, environmental hazards and other components of health protection within the community. 

These posts include participation in the out of hours health protection on-call rota after a period of training and assessment (with reimbursement).

We are looking for Registered General Nurses, Allied Health Care Professionals or Chartered Environmental Health Practitioners who are seeking to develop their role within the field of health protection. You will be a good communicator, able to work in a team and be prepared to take on responsibility, as appropriate. Experience in a community health related field, teaching, research and/or audit would be viewed as advantageous. Applicants should also be able to provide evidence of further professional development and be able to participate in the out of hours on-call rota.

The successful candidates will be highly motivated with excellent communication skills; a broad experience and a commitment to the highest standards of service delivery.
