Waking Nights Support Worker

**Are you looking for night time work ?**

**Could you support people with learning disabilities, helping them live life on their own terms?**

You'll join us as a **Waking Nights Support Worker**, working in our **St Albans** service in Hertfordshire.

This is a part time role 30 hours per week across three nights

**About the role**

You will be working at two neighbouring properties, helping us to provide a relaxed and homely environment, supporting people aged from mid-twenties to mid-sixties. You will be dealing with specific needs of the people we support, participating in some activities before bed such as reading or watching TV / films; as well as making light suppers or snacks and ensuring they're ready for bed.

You will be available during the night to provide physical support and emotional reassurance when they are wakeful; checking at regular intervals to ensure they are comfortable and getting a good night's sleep ready for the next day.

There will be some personal care involved in this role along with lone working. There may also be behaviours of concern but we provide full training along with help and advice from the Frontline Manager. The night shift runs from 21:00 to 07:00.

Night work can be demanding and doesn't suit everyone, but if it's right for you, you'll find it incredibly rewarding and valuable.

**What we need from you**

Although it can be helpful if you have experience as a care worker, practitioner or healthcare assistant, this isn't essential. We provide a full induction and free training programme. People join us from many different backgrounds - it's more important to us that you have the right personal qualities and that you're willing to listen and learn.
