Salary- £11,376 based on 18.5 hours per week
Position Benefits:

The purpose of the role is to oversee the provision of an efficient and accurate monthly payroll service for 260+ staff.
We have an excellent opportunity in Canterbury for a Payroll Officer to work for one of our clients
In this role you will be working 18.5 hours per week on a flexible basis
Responsibilities
* Prepare and calculate payroll data, including overtime and payroll adjustments.
* Record and process salary changes on the Payroll system.
* Maintain up-to-date staff details for processing, including new employees, leavers, tax codes, Maternity, Paternity, and Adoption details, Student Loans, Attachment to Earnings, and staff expenses.
* Process payments using BACS.
* Handle all staff benefits processed through the payroll.
* Reconcile PAYE & NI and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and deadlines [RTI].
* Administer the pension scheme, including auto-enrolment.
* Generate monthly reports for the Accounts department, Nominal Ledger, and management accounts, ensuring correct cross-charging of interdepartmental costs.
* Prepare regular reports on staff costs and staff numbers as needed.
* Maintain absence records.
* Coordinate with third-party Financial Advisors regarding pension and life insurance advice for employees.
* Prepare monthly billing forms for salary reimbursement related to King's School and other Chapter entities.
* Perform any other reasonable tasks as required
Skills and Experience
* Excellent working knowledge of SAGE payroll systems
* Significant experience administering a payroll function for a similar sized organisation
* Significant knowledge of payroll legislation, including tax, NI and Statutory Payments
* Experience of on-line payroll systems
* Excellent IT skills
* Excellent standard of written English
* Understanding of and sympathy with the aims and purposes of the Company, its mission and ministry
* Enthusiastic and self-motivating.
* Articulate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to multitask
