Agile coach/Scrum master
â¢To use Agile values and principles through thinking, processes and actions.
â¢To take ownership of the delivery process and outcomes for teams utilising a combination of Lean, Scrum and Kanban.
â¢To facilitate all relevant agile rituals (Stand up, Retrospective, Planning etc).
â¢To foster a continuous improvement culture whereby teams are responsive to change, able to "fail fast and safely", learn from the experience and encourage innovative approaches for improvement.
â¢To help the team establish and abide by a set of 'norms' that help them govern their behaviours and interactions.
â¢To promote learning, experimentation and knowledge sharing and encourage creativity. To help the team to continuously improve their process and behaviour through regular reflection and adaptation.
â¢Determining, managing and improving the delivery metrics around key areas such as flow efficiency, delivery against purpose and quality.
â¢Deliver projects using the appropriate Agile project management methodology, learning & iterating frequently.
â¢Proactively build, maintain and continuously improve the team environment to encourage high performance and delivery focus.
â¢Be the interface between the delivery team, programme and project management, Product and Service management and other stakeholders.
â¢Ensure delivery ceremonies such as planning, stand-ups, meetings, reviews, retrospectives, demonstrations of deliverable and other delivery related meetings are effective and fully support delivery.
â¢Facilitate and proactively drive the resolution of bottlenecks, issues, risks, dependencies and blockers that inhibit the team's delivery.
â¢Track and communicate team delivery progress and improvements at sprint, release and portfolio levels
â¢Shield the team from external interference. Deflect or absorb as many requests that will take the team's focus away for meeting their commitments and delivering value.
â¢Lead the collaborative, dynamic planning process - prioritising the work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of the team
â¢Maintain visibility of the required up-to-date information using tools such as JIRA. Track agreed metrics on a regular basis.
Key skills you need:
â¢Extensive experience and proven success of delivery in a mixed Agile and traditional environment.
â¢Expert knowledge of the practices, concepts and procedures related to coaching and facilitating development teams in the adoption and practice of Agile principles, preferably with large organisations.
â¢Solid experience with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
â¢Strong leadership skills and excellent communication skills to influence and earn the confidence of multiple stakeholders especially the delivery teams.
â¢Proven ability to build, maintain and continuously improve delivery focused teams.
â¢Understanding of incremental delivery and the value of metrics and transparency.
â¢Possess good skills and knowledge of leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
â¢Demonstrable delivery focus - self-motivated with independent problem solving skills.
â¢Ability to spot warning signs of things going wrong and provide a decisive response to significant delivery challenges.
â¢Experience of getting the best out of people by giving enthusiastic and encouraging messages about priorities, objectives and expectations.
â¢Basic security DC clearance.
