Skillnet was established in 1997 and was one of the first training providers to achieve the prestigious Training Quality Standard award in 2008.
We operate nationally and can offer a full range of training services to employers and employees. Each year we manage the training for more than 3000 people.
We now deliver quality provision nationally across a range of disciplines and to a range of different employers.
Main Purpose of Job:
To manage the strategic development of Skillnetâ°ÃÂªs business growth in all of its target markets including:
â°ÃÂ¢ Independent Employers
â°ÃÂ¢ Existing and prospective Manufacturer contracts
â°ÃÂ¢ Other funded income streams including Traineeships
â°ÃÂ¢ Other commercial income streams
Main Duties And Responsibilities:
Skillnet has ambitious plans for growth based on our success to date and the opportunities that currently exist in the marketplace.
This role will be responsible for spearheading our growth in all of the sectors in which we currently operate whilst developing new income streams through the development of our offering to work with unemployed people in returning them to the active workforce
â°ÃÂ¢ Manage a small team to achieve agreed activity and performance targets in the promotion of Skillnetâ°ÃÂªs training facilities to new employers and applicants
â°ÃÂ¢ Key account manage larger employers to raise the profile of Skillnet and increase employer participation
â°ÃÂ¢ Maintain and develop good relations with existing employers both locally and regionally
â°ÃÂ¢ Recruit, coach and develop a sales manager and develop / grow the existing team of recruitment consultants.
â°ÃÂ¢ Creating and implementing marketing strategies.
â°ÃÂ¢ Work with programme managers to develop sales in our existing and prospective manufacturer accounts
New Apprenticeships and other commercial training:
As part of the broadening of our offer to increase our penetration of existing customers and to win new ones we are developing new areas of delivery to include new apprenticeships and other full cost recovery training programmes. This role will spearhead the market introduction of these new areas
Key Competencies required for role
â°ÃÂ¢ An expertly organised and analytical approach is required together with first class communication and selling skills and the ability to work to tight customer driven deadlines.
â°ÃÂ¢ Candidates should demonstrate strategic thinking skills and an ability to create and implement successful business development strategies which add value to the business.
â°ÃÂ¢ Strong personal selling and negotiation skills are required.
â°ÃÂ¢ Candidates should demonstrate experience of successfully managing both direct and indirect teams of staff.
Degree standard education and an impressive track record of growing businesses is required.
